Food photographer London
Jennifer Cauli - Food photography London
Hi, this is Jennifer, I’m a London food photographer and my passion is to help you create a visual identity that you can be proud of - images that do justice to the business that you’ve worked hard to create.
One great thing about London is it’s vibrant food scene with restaurants of all types, but in a crowded market it can be tough to standout. Your food is crafted with passion and creativity, but without professional photos, potential customers can easily overlook you.
My images are honest, showcasing your incredible food, your restaurants vibe and your brand identity.
Why is it important to have good food photography?
Professional images are an essential part of your brand and a way to show your food in the best lighting. Having beautiful images with a coherent style running throughout, can make a real difference in attracting diners and it helps you building your reputation.
Social media has an evergrowing influence on where diners choose to eat, and this trend is only set to grow further in the coming years. These platforms are based on highly visual content, so making sure you have first-class images and videos is now essential.
How to choose the best food photographer in London for your needs
1. Define your goals. What kind of images are you looking for? There are a few factors to take into consideration, such as:
Images style: Dramatic contrast, dark and moody, natural with minimal retouching, flat lay.
The purpose of your images: printed menu, marketing, social media, press, websites.
Landscape or porttrait images
2. Search for photographers online and ask for recommendation by your restaurant peers
3. Evaluate the photographer’s portfolio and whether their style is a good match for your brand
4. Start with a call or arrange a meeting to discuss your budget and the photographers daily rate
6. Trust your instinct

Benefits of hiring a professional food photographer in London
In the age of social media, it’s easy to think that all you need to capture striking food photos is a smartphone and a basic camera. But the reality is that achieving the polished, professional images you’re after requires someone with expertise in lighting, technique, food styling, and high-quality equipment—someone who can ensure your visuals truly reflect your brand.
While it might be tempting to save time and money with a DIY approach, the end result often falls short. Images can end up looking less sharp, amateur, and ultimately misrepresent your business. This can hurt your revenue and turn away potential customers who might have otherwise given your restaurant a try.
Think of it this way: you could build your own house—but wouldn’t it be faster, easier, and produce far better results if you hired a professional architect?

FAQ
Q: How long does a typical shoot take?
A: Most shoots last 6 - 8 hours, depending on the number of dishes and complexity of styling. For the best results I would allocate a minimum of 30 minutes per image to 1 hour.
Q: Do I need to provide props and styling?
A: While I can provide some basic props and styling materials, it’s better if you have specific items in mind that reflect your brand’s aesthetic. If you do not own a suitable prop, I can help sourcing these if needed as I work with prop stylists.
Q: Can I use the photos for social media and my website?
A: Absolutely! All images will be yours to use across your marketing channels.
Q: What if I have a tight budget?
A: I understand that budgets can vary. Let’s chat about what you’re looking for, and we can find a package that works for you.

Commercial Food Photography
Each brand has its own unique story, my mission is to tell this story through food images. I achieve this with the use of professional studio lighting to create dramatic scenes or a vibrant one for example, and with the use of props with textures and colours, flowers and cloths that match your brand and tell a story. I am available for packshot and e-commerce photoshoots both on location or from my studio in North London.
Restaurants Food Photography
As a London food photographer I consider every photoshoot as an opportunity to show your beautiful dishes in its restaurant context. I find corners of your restaurants that are perfect for your visual style and that show the vibes. I work with both natural lighting and studio lighting depending on what suits best. The aim is to create consistent beautiful food images for your website, menus and social media.
Editorial Food Photography
Having worked at my own book and with magazines in London in the past, I can bring my expertise on the table when it comes to editorial food photography. We can create some stunning food photos. I work from my kitchen and studio which is fully equipped and spacious and I can assist with props and food styling if needed to create some amazing food images.
